I personally love seeing wedding photography and the special moments that are captured between a bride & groom, this couple look smitten with each other and we wish you all the very best for the next chapter that lies ahead.
Now sit back & enjoy …

Q & A with the lovely Gillian from The Little Cupcakery!
Give us a little background to who you are, what you do and how you ended up there.
I am Gillian, a wife, a mum, a teacher and a wedding cake designer.…life is busy!! I started my business in the summer of 2012 when my friend Lucy persuaded me to make her wedding cupcakes! At first I made mini cupcakes but everyone kept asking if I would make them a cake and so eventually after a lot of practise and eating a lot of sample cake recipes, I launched my celebration and wedding cake collections.
What do you love most about your job?
All of it…apart from the washing up! I love the creative process. I love meeting brides and discussing their wedding and bringing it all together in cake form. I adore designing and baking wedding cakes and creating each and every little sugar flower that adorns the final display.
Is there a popular cake or does each bride want something different?
Generally brides want a cake that is going to appeal to all their guests. I offer a different flavour/tier and so often they get 3/4 choices of cake. My most popular would definitely be the Strawberry & Champagne-light and fresh and perfect after a wedding meal.
Would you recommend anywhere for brides to look for inspiration?
There is a wealth of information in magazine form, blogs and online. Pinterest is a great starting point to get ideas of the kind of design that you might like…and even the kind you don’t! But don’t worry if you cant decide-if you bring a few ideas to your consultation a good designer will be able to look and listen to your thoughts and suggest some ideas for you. Try starting here https://uk.pinterest.com/tlcni/
Have you any advice for brides on choosing their cake?
Choose something that you will enjoy and love to eat. It is your day and it is important that you love your cake! Don’t order a sugarpaste cake if you are one of those people who pick off the icing and leave it on the plate! There are other options such as chocolate ganache, a naked cake or buttercream. The choice is yours.
What did you enjoy most about your wedding day?
Definitely having all the people that we loved the most in the one room altogether! Waltzing with my Grandpa would have to be up there too-a memory that I will treasure forever.
How early should I book my cake?
You can never be too early-especially if you are having a summer wedding or a Saturday. Good cake designers will be booked up more than a year in advance. If there is someone in particular that you would like to design your cake get in touch and see if they are free. I take names and then a small deposit nearer the time to secure your date. Then we meet and chat over coffee and cake
How can brides get in touch?
Best way is via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or via message on

A sneak peak at Ivory & Pearl
Jonathan Ryder Photography came down last month during our Claire Pettibone Designer Weekend to photograph Ivory & Pearl. And boy do I love the images, it’s so nice to have them, so nice to remember how Ivory & Pearl looks right now, especially as we’re having a little refurb this summer (more details to follow!) I just love where we’re based, I love this Georgian House and would happily live here.. just look at those windows, how could you not!! Everyone always comments on the decor, but to be honest I did hardly anything to it, the walls were already that colour, the chandeliers were already here, even the units!! Chris and I went out one day to find a premises – I said that I wondered whether the gift shop was still open in The Georgian House – we went – it had just closed it’s doors a month before and the rooms were available. So Chris and I asked to rent it, got accepted and stopped looking. Some things are just meant to be. And this was just meant to be.

Lime Park Photo Shoot
My o My, Lime Park is one of the most beautiful venues E.V.E.R, it really is a labour of love by Shelly and her brother, as they have devoted so much of their time to it, from the watering can tap (see photo below), to the hand made light bulbs, outdoor ceremony area, outdoor swing, this venue really is amazing. Shelly is so lovely, and the brides in the boutique can’t talk any more highly of her service!
Last year, I got involved in a photo shoot at Lime Park, to be honest though, I was a little over my head, this was the first time I had ever been involved in a photo shoot and I thought that you just find models, dresses, suits and *Wham Bam* the photographer takes the shots and they’re amazing… how wrong was I! Now I know, the endless hours that go into researching, getting the right look, keeping the theme throughout, the numerous Secret Pinterest Boards, and then of course, the staging, makeup artists, hair stylists, florists, photographers, editing, transportation to the venue, and then taking it all down, going home and sleeping for a week. Really, these photo shoots, take hours, days.. and thankfully I’ve become a lot better at contributing!
This shoot really did blow my mind, from seeing Lime Park for the first time, the styling by Mel at Mood Events and Grace from Grace & Saviour, and then seeing the final images from Ria at Creative Flux. She was actually ill on the day, so her partner, Paul (who isn’t even a photographer) captured the shots, with Ria later editing them.. he did such a smashing job!
The two shots I really love, are the watering can tap (of course) and Shelly’s car.. see below.. that is her actual car, and the wee photo of some of the team!!!
