Catherine Deane 2015 Wedding Dresses
When I opened Ivory & Pearl, I approached Catherine Deane about stocking their gowns, because I loved her branding, loved her website, loved her dresses! At that time though they weren’t available, HOWEVER, last year they approached me as they were starting to sell into Bridal Boutiques. AND boy am I glad I took them on.. here are a few of the gowns that are due in NEXT month!! Excited.com

An Ivory & Pearl Bride in a Claire Pettibone Gown
As you all know I am a big Claire Pettibone lover!! How could I not really, her dresses are just amazing, so intricate, ornate, different, just absolutely stunning!! Claire Pettibone’s dresses are just so different from other designers, not only that, her dresses are so different from each other!! I also love her use of colour, okay, okay, that’s enough, I hear ya! I am so happy with our designers at the moment though, I am having a lot of fun choosing new dresses, and can honestly say we have amazing gowns! Only more stunning gowns to come.. next blog.. a designer we currently have but new dresses arriving in March… wait until you see them!!!

Lime Park Photo Shoot
My o My, Lime Park is one of the most beautiful venues E.V.E.R, it really is a labour of love by Shelly and her brother, as they have devoted so much of their time to it, from the watering can tap (see photo below), to the hand made light bulbs, outdoor ceremony area, outdoor swing, this venue really is amazing. Shelly is so lovely, and the brides in the boutique can’t talk any more highly of her service!
Last year, I got involved in a photo shoot at Lime Park, to be honest though, I was a little over my head, this was the first time I had ever been involved in a photo shoot and I thought that you just find models, dresses, suits and *Wham Bam* the photographer takes the shots and they’re amazing… how wrong was I! Now I know, the endless hours that go into researching, getting the right look, keeping the theme throughout, the numerous Secret Pinterest Boards, and then of course, the staging, makeup artists, hair stylists, florists, photographers, editing, transportation to the venue, and then taking it all down, going home and sleeping for a week. Really, these photo shoots, take hours, days.. and thankfully I’ve become a lot better at contributing!
This shoot really did blow my mind, from seeing Lime Park for the first time, the styling by Mel at Mood Events and Grace from Grace & Saviour, and then seeing the final images from Ria at Creative Flux. She was actually ill on the day, so her partner, Paul (who isn’t even a photographer) captured the shots, with Ria later editing them.. he did such a smashing job!
The two shots I really love, are the watering can tap (of course) and Shelly’s car.. see below.. that is her actual car, and the wee photo of some of the team!!!

Our First Baby… and Our First Employee!!!
I can’t believe we’ve been open for nearly a year and a half now, it has been the most exciting, yet challenging, exhausting, yet rewarding 18 months I’ve ever had. Running a business by yourself (well, of course along with my chief sign cutter / delivery man and cardboard disposal expert – my husband, and my extremely talented fashionista who helps choose all my gowns – my mum!) is hard work, I don’t think I’ve worked as many hours in my life, yet the thing is I absolutely love it! It’s often not like work, more like a hobby, choosing lots of pretty dresses and meeting some fab brides, from all around the world! At the moment it’s great, as lots of our brides are collecting their dresses for the summer and there is nothing better than seeing a bride’s dress in her size, all new, fresh and pristine! I can’t wait to share more blogs with you over the coming months of our real brides!!
HOWEVER…. things are going to change slightly, as in 2 weeks time we’re expecting our first baby! I am very, very excited – it has been a very long 9 months waiting for this little arrival, and to think that in 4 weeks we’ll meet him/her is a little surreal! You never know, I might open a baby shop next, jokes, I’m a very unprepared mother to be, I think I’ll stick with bridal! Of course, I’ll still be available to chat to via e-mail/phone, and all being well will be at all the fittings with our amazing dress maker, Andrea, when brides are collecting their wedding dresses. This does also mean that we have a new member of staff… who you will all absolutely love… Sara! Sara has been working Saturdays already, so some of you may have already met her, but she will be here full time to show you all the wedding gowns and provide her fashion expertise! Here she is at her formal on Saturday night, looking lovely! Please make her feel loved when you’re in!!
I hope you’re all out enjoying the sunshine! We’ve lots of brides in, and five brides trying their own dress on for the first time this evening.. That’s one of the best bits
Lots of love,
